I. Welcome

Christa welcomed everyone to the meeting and reviewed the agenda for the meeting highlighting that the focus of the meeting is to garner feedback from all the members on ideas and topics for POE's 2024 education. The meeting was then turned over to Charity Bright to start with NGSConnex Updates.
II. NGSConnex/PEX Updates

Charity reviewed the following provided within NGSConnex:
- Information found under Eligibility Lookup
- Medicare Advantage plan information if a beneficiary has chosen coverage under an MA plan (under Medicare Advantage
- Updated 2024 deductible information (under Part B Deductible)
- Beneficiaries in the QMB program (under Qualified Medicare Beneficiary)
- Finding open home health admission periods (under Home Health Plan)
- Inpatient and SNF stays (under Inpatient and SNF Spell History)
Alicia reviewed the new Table of Contents feature on the NGS website. She told the audience that some of the articles are quite long and with the new feature will be able to see all the topics included in the article at the top of the page. She also pointed out that those links in the table can be copied and pasted into an email. When the recipient clicks on the link they will be brought to that exact place within the article.
III. Completed and Upcoming Education/Advisory Recommendations

Christa reviewed the education sessions completed since the last POE AG meeting. There has not been great attendance at any of the sessions; however, she will continue to offer webinar education to support the topics covered in the online YouTube videos and Podcast episodes. Christa also reviewed the recommendations members offered during our last meeting and the updates on those suggestions.
IV. Education Media/Vision for 2024 Education Discussion

Christa related to the group that five online videos have been created from the NOA and period of care billing PPTs. The videos are currently in the editing stage and should be available on YouTube by the end of the year. She also reviewed the topics from the six podcast episodes currently available on Spotify and Apple podcast platforms. Members were (and are) encouraged to listen to the podcasts, rate them on Spotify/Apple, share with their peers/association members, and send topic ideas and questions for POE to address in future podcasts to NGSHHHPOE@elevancehealth.com.
The following topics were suggested for future education/podcasts:
- Small tutorials/reminders for field staff
- Review of proper charting for medications
- Verification of insurance when at the patient’s home
- Documenting homebound with examples
- Review of forms such as the NOMNC and ABN including examples of invalid ABNs
- Discussion on ADRs/TPE
- FTF encounter, examples of what to do if the clinician’s initial evaluation of the patient finds the patient’s need for home care is different from what’s noted in the FTF
- HIT monitoring and who is responsible for infusion services
V. Updates/Reminders

The HHH Team is planning to meet in November to discuss the 2024 education plan. The dates for next year’s POE AGs will be decided at that time. An email will be sent to all the members once the dates are finalized.
