Appeals Redeterminations are Only Accepted Once

National Government Services has seen a large increase in provider submissions of redetermination requests after a redetermination has been requested or completed.

Please be aware, once a redetermination request has been submitted to the MAC you cannot submit a second request or add information to a previous request via the appeals process. This request will be rejected and only slows down the entire redetermination process.

Once the redetermination process has been finalized and a determination is issued, you’ll receive a new remittance advice or a letter. If you have additional information that was not available previously or feel a reconsideration is necessary, then you would proceed to the second level of appeal which is to ask for a reconsideration from the QIC.

We recommend providers review our website information Levels of Appeals and Time Limits for Filing for an explanation of the levels of appeal, when to submit each level, the information necessary to pursue each level and other helpful information about the appeals process.
