Telligen QIN-QIO Hosting Chronic Kidney Disease Topics with National Kidney Foundation

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects more than 1 in 7 U.S. adults—an estimated 37 million Americans. For Americans with diabetes or high blood pressure—the two most common causes of kidney disease—the risk for CKD is even greater. Nearly 1 in 3 people with diabetes and 1 in 5 people with high blood pressure have kidney disease. Other risk factors for developing kidney disease include heart disease and a family history of kidney failure. CKD is associated with cognitive and physical impairment and, if left untreated, may lead to kidney failure, heart attack or stroke. In 2020, chronic kidney disease accounted for more than $85 billion in Medicare costs.

Telligen, the Quality Innovation Network-Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) for CO, IA, IL, and OK, is offering an accredited CME educational series in partnership with the National Kidney Foundation on chronic disease (diabetes, hypertension, cardiac disease etc.) and how it relates to chronic kidney disease. This series is provided by Medicare funding at no cost to you. Sessions are come and go, with 20 topics by CKD experts offered over this spring and summer 2023 so please choose to attend the sessions that interest you and relate to your area of healthcare. Sessions will take place either Tuesdays at 12 p.m. CST (11 a.m. MST) or Thursdays 12 p.m. MST (1 p.m. CST) starting Tuesday, April 25th.
