CMS Internet Only Manual, Publication 100-20, Transmittal #343, CR#5843

Change Request (CR) 5843 notifies all interested parties that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) needs to change the contractor numbers in the Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) Jurisdiction 13 (J13) for the Part A and Part B workloads in the states of Connecticut and New York when those areas become live in Jurisdiction 13. These changes need to be made because certain applications require separate contractor numbers for each state. The New York and Connecticut Part A workload is currently processed in the same CICS processing and testing regions used to process the Delaware Part A workload. This workload will be transitioning in the future to two different MAC jurisdictions. To facilitate the MAC transition, CMS is splitting this workload into separate CICS regions at the Enterprise Data Center (EDC) and assigning a MAC workload number to the Delaware Part A workload. The instructions pertaining to the splitting of that production region, the handling of all three state’s workloads and their transition to the J13 can be found in CR 5843 which is located on the CMS Web site at http://www.cms.hhs.gov/Transmittals/downloads/R343OTN.pdf.

Currently, all of the New York, Connecticut and Delaware Part A workload processed by National Government Services is identified by contractor number 00308. The Delaware Part A workload shall now be identified separately by MAC number 12101. This will occur at the same time as the conversion of the Part A Connecticut and New York workload on November 14, 2008.
