Provider EDC Notification
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has recently competed and awarded several contracts for the Enterprise Data Centers (EDCs) for Medicare Fee-for-Service (FSS) claims processing. For our FFS claims processing requirements, CMS has selected Companion Data Services (CDS) as the EDC Contractor responsible for this task.
This notification is to advise all National Government Services, Inc. providers of our upcoming transition from the NGS Data Center to the CDS Data Center for our Part A Virginia/West Virginia workload. It is anticipated that this transition will be effective on Tuesday, November 11, 2008.
In preparation for this EDC cutover, the VA/WV production region will be unavailable on Saturday, September 27 for preliminary testing. The system will also be unavailable on Saturday, November 8 and Monday, November 10, 2008. It is expected that all system functions will resume as normal on Tuesday, November 11, 2008.
With this transition, as with previous transitions, providers can expect several changes and will be required to take action with regard to some of these changes. The following is a preliminary listing that requires your immediate attention.
*REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING FISS/DDE USER IDs:
National Government Services will be issuing new FISS User IDs that will replace your current User IDs. To facilitate this task we are requiring Patient Account managers to complete and electronically submit the online “Transition Contact Form” located at http://www.ngsmedicare.com/NGSMedicare/VAPartAEDCMigration.aspx. The purpose of this form is to obtain a single Point of Contact to communicate the new User IDs. The NGS EDI Department will communicate these to the identified contact based on the Preferred Contact Method indicated in the form.
Please Note:
All information on the form is required, and the requests must be submitted online, by no later than October 17, 2008. If you have previously submitted your Point of Contact information, please do not submit this again. Failure to submit this form before October 17, 2008 may lead to a delay in receiving your new ID or a disruption in service.
The assignment of the new FISS IDs will start in late October. Updated documentation and the opportunity for training will be available before the November 10 transition.
SYSTEM AVAILABILITY (Including IVR):
6:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) - Monday-Friday
6:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) - Saturday
*ONLINE SCREEN CHANGES:
With the implementation of this transition, the current Log-on Screen will be replaced with a CA-TPX Menu Log-on Screen.
Supporting documentation regarding this screen change and log-on instructions will be communicated prior to the transition.
Please Note: There will be no changes to the FISS / Direct Data Entry (DDE) Application Screens.
We do expect additional system changes, not outlined in this listing, and will continue to provide updates as they become available. National Government Services is committed to making this transition as seamless as possible for its users. In order to keep providers abreast of the progress made and participation required, we have created a Web page that will be dedicated to this transition. The VA/WV EDC Transition Page is easily accessed from our Home Page located at www.NGSMedicare.com by selecting your business type and region.
If you have any questions regarding the transition, please contact National Government Services Customer Care at 866-808-8091.
