- administers the Medicare Part B (medical insurance) contract for the states of Indiana, Kentucky, New Jersey, and New York, serving over 175,000 Part B physicians and providers of service;
- administers the Jurisdiction B Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contract (DME MAC) for the states of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin, serving over 23,100 durable medical equipment suppliers;
- processed over 208.8 million Medicare claims and administered benefits of more than $94.6 billion from the Medicare Trust Fund in fiscal year 2007; and
- responded to over 11.2 million phone calls, 94,400 written inquiries, an average of 1,000 Congressional inquiries, and 330 walk-ins from the Medicare community in fiscal year 2007.
