| 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM | Medicare Secondary Payer: Conditional MSP Billing Have you billed the appropriate payer that is primary to Medicare but received notification that no-payment will be made at all due to benefits exhausting, services not being covered, services being applied to the primary payer’s deductible, coinsurance, co-payment, or due to other valid reasons? Do you need to know how to request Medicare payment in these types of situations?
This session will review the “MSP Conditional Billing Process” article available on our Web site. It will provide instructions on how to complete the appropriate form locators (FLs) on the UB-04 (CMS-1450) claim form for submitting conditional claims to Medicare. Conditional claims are claims submitted to Medicare to request payment in situations in which the primary payer has not made payment for a valid reason or in accident-related situations in which the primary payer has not made payment promptly. Examples will be reviewed. This session will not include instructions on electronic (837) claim submissions; however, some related information will be provided. | Teleconference |
